About Larry
Larry has been a full-time musician since 1970. His history includes a roster of successful
students, experience with recognized performers, touring, recording, arranging and composing. He currently enjoys working with casual students through professional players (children through adults) on guitar, electric bass and mandolin.
College-bound students have been accepted to such institutions as U. of North Texas, U. of Florida, Berklee, William Patterson, George Mason U., Shenandoah Conservatory, Virginia Commonwealth U., some have qualified for performance scholarships and full scholarships. Ex-students have also excelled as educators (Ohio State U., Kenyon College or as private instructors) and performers with such artists as Kirk Franklin, Pati LaBelle, Boz Scaggs and Abbey Lincoln.
Larry's own past performances include engagements with Randy Brecker, "Blue Lou" Marini, Marlena Shaw, Bobby Shew, Danny Gottlieb, Jimmy Owens, Ed Soph, Ted Piltzecker, Chris Vadala - even comedians Bob Hope and Frank Fontaine. Since moving to the Baltimore-Washington area he's had engagements at the Kennedy Center, Peabody Institute, Strathmore Hall, The Birchmere, Baltimore Museum of Art and others.
