Lesson Policy / Fees

Rates (effective Jan 1, 2023):
Lessons are given at a rate of $44.00 per half hour (4 Weeks = $176; 5 Weeks = $220)

Discounted Rates: For a one hour lesson the rate is $78.00/hour (or for 2 people in the same family taking a half hour each).
Further time will be pro-rated at $39.00 per half hour.

Payment due date:
Payment for the month is due at the beginning of each month. If you plan on missing the first lesson of the month or if it falls on a holiday, please pay for the new month on the last lesson day of the previous month. For an unplanned absence please mail payment to: 8129 Kidd Street, Alexandria, VA 22309.

Rescheduling for Absences:
Please note that your lesson slot is held exclusively for you. If you are unable to attend a lesson, please note the following:

Notify your instructor within 24 hours before your scheduled time if you will not be attending. (Your instructor will then try to schedule a make-up. Without notice, the payment will be forfeited)

If you are ill, please give as much notice as possible that you will not be able to attend. (A reschedule will be at the option of the instructor based on past history, and how much notice was given.) At any rate, please do not come in if you are contagious.

Excused Absences:
Absences for the following circumstances need not be paid for:

Vacations will be allowed with advanced notification (maximum of 3 lessons per year). (For any summer lessons over the 3 lesson maximum, payment must be made in order to hold your slot, otherwise this slot may be given to another student and a new slot (if available) will be given upon the student’s return). These vacation days are offered to year-round students. If you do not plan on attending during the summer, all vacation days must be rescheduled.

Some major holidays need not be paid for (for the day of the actual holiday). Please check with your instructor.

Lessons cancelled by the instructor. (Make-up optional)

We would appreciate a 4 week notice if you plan on discontinuing lessons.

Please note that lessons are not refundable.
